Monday Made It!!

This week is spring break for me (yyyyyiiiiippppeeee) and I've been saving everything to make this week. Here is a Scriptureopoly I made for our church's primary kids.

The kids LOVE it! They get to roll the dice if they have read their scriptures or bring back a service chart. I wish I would have taken a better picture, but it works. I made this and put pictures of things in our church and town which made it a lot more personal for the kids.

I've also used this Homeworkopoly in my class when I taught a self-contained and I would use it again in a heartbeat.

Marvelous Monday Made It!

First, we have been reviewing Main Idea, Theme and Topic. My kids just keep needing review on these three things. So I update my anchor chart to include the Clues section and it has helped a ton. See the original post here. I will update tomorrow with my theme/topic anchor chart.

Next, I mentioned YPP a couple weeks ago and be prepared to be amazed by this wonderful tool! Here is quick overview...
-Students test weekly on Common Core standards. Yes, weekly and it is SO worth it!
-By doing the weekly tests students are able to track their progress and the teacher is able to see if concepts are being understood.
-The students are awarded dots. Green for mastery, yellow for proficient and red for lacking.

What I like about YPP
-I can break it down to see EXACTLY which concepts my students are missing.
-This drives my curriculum and my intervention.
-Since the first of January my students have increased their yellow and green dots. I am seeing kids excited about learning!
-Students have come to me individually to ask about a concept they missed on testing and want me to teach it to them.

I also do a competition depending upon percentages. If the class percentage increases they are rewarded a point. If it decreases then a point is taken away. My students are working their butts off to improve. I wish I could show you the percentages but I didn't feel right about it. Seeing the other class percentages is a huge motivation too!!

This is my YPP board where the percentages are. Below the dots I have the top students.

Whenever a kid gets a green dot (they can get a total of 5 per week) they receive a Green Dot Ticket and a gobstopper from my gumball machine for every green dot earned. The ticket can be entered for any of these 6 drawings.

The books were ordered using my points and then there are a couple treat bags. My kids are loving this!!

That is all. Kind of a different Monday Made It this month, but it works!! Now I need to get in gear and make Valentine's stuff. Just a little behind :)

A Freebie, Bragtags, Pinwheels, Game Boards for Monday Made It

Oh Tara, your linky is my monthly inspiration. Seriously, I look at so many Monday Made It links. When this party rolls around Pinterest is put on hold. I'm lovin' it! 

First of all, Bragtags. Have you seen these floating around? Well I have and I can't wait to introduce them to my kids. I've the below so far and am working on monthly birthday, monthly attendance, and I want to get my team on board as well. 

These paper fans are not the ones in my classroom. I can't find my pictures I emailed to myself, but I will take more today. So expect an update. These are very simple to make.

Update!

Here is my picture. Yes, it is on its side. I like you, but deal with it. Crazy day.

1. Get three pieces of square paper and fold each one like an accordion.

2. With the accordion all bundled up, fold the entire thing in half right at the middle so your accordion ends now touch.

3. Tape/glue the ends together.

4. Repeat with other two pieces of paper.

5. Tape/glue each accordion together to form a wheel.

6. String.

These are so much fun to make, but make sure you are using some awesome tape/glue!

Lastly, some game boards. These can be used for any subject at any age. I made a set of four and my students are loving them.

Monday Made It...Already?!

First off, Christmas Editing Sentences. Yes, very basic. But my students need basic right now. These cover capitalization of sentence beginnings, proper nouns, spelling and punctuation. The sentences are SO MUCH FUN! I'm very excited to start these with my kiddos today.

 I also made fun Christmas time Word Work cards. They include the same activities we have been doing all year, but my kids act like they are new. They actually get excited to do these. I think it is the Christmasness of the cards.

Yes, these are in my TpT store and they are only $1. Everything in my store is only $1. I would give you everything I have, but I can't because I purchased the clipart and the clipart people won't let me. I don't blame them either. I need to learn how to make my own clipart and then we wouldn't have this problem. Anyone willing to teach me??
