Figurative Language for Flashback and Five!

Linking up with Amanda from Teaching Maddeness for
And Doodle Bugs for
fiveforfriday

Here is a seriously quick overview of my week!

1. Similes and Metaphors
We started the week off with a review of similes and metaphors. After teaching and writing these we played a game on the Smartboard called Fling the Teacher which focuses on similes and metaphors. Here are six screen shots from the game. My 6th graders loved it. Probably because it is ridiculous and fun :)

2. Word Parts
I'm just going to give you a picture of this one with no explanation because you will be receiving it tomorrow and it is SO EXCITING!

3. Google Presentation
In my computer literacy class we have been learning how to use Google Presentations and my kiddos are getting pretty good at it!

4. Personification
We have been learning about personification and you can get these cards here for free!! My students had a blast writing personification sentences using the cards.

5. Fight the New Drug
We had an AWESOME assembly today about the New Drug. I am hoping this assembly happens annually.
Fight The New Drug
Such a touchy subject but this assembly was amazing! Click the slogan to check it out!

Have a great weekend!!
