Mountain Language

In our classroom we do Mountain Language . Mountain Language is a grammar review program. We start the year by learning about each question. The students have the Mtn. Language page in a folder along with a notebook. They only read the questions off the paper, they don't write on it. The notebook is where they answer the questions. Each week I put up 20 different cards on the bulletin board for the students to answer. We have gone over and practiced each question many times. The students work on the 20 questions throughout the week. On Friday, we review the answers in class.

Homeworkopoly

I use Homeworkopoly as an incentive for students to complete their homework. The students love playing. We play Homeworkopoly weekly. In order to play, students need to complete all homework assignments for the past week. It works just like the real game, but with a school twist. On Friday, the students roll the dice and move their jumbo push pins around the board to see what they get. It is a lot of fun. Some rewards are: get to use the teacher chair, get a free pencil, sit by a friend for two hours, get 5 classroom bucks, etc. Click here for the website to print off Homeworkopoly.
